Representatives from numerous area organizations and programs
serving LGBTQQ/SGL youth and young people, including:
Dialogue about the needs of LGBTQ youth and families within faith communities
Connections with other LGBTQQ/SGL supportive people of faith from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties
At the YES! Coalition's first annual meeting, participants identified hopes and dreams for programming associated with the YES! Coalition, including education for welcoming and would-be welcoming congregations, collaboration around work with LGBTQ youth, and more networking opportunities. So our first community networking forum will focus on connecting welcoming congregation leadership with LGBTQ youth and young adult resources.
6pm - A light (and optional) dinner hour (pizza and salad) will offer an informal opportunity to connect with one another. Please RSVP for dinner to rsvp@yescoalitionphilly.org, so we can be sure to provide enough food. A $2 donation is requested to help cover expenses.
7pm - A panel of experienced youth leaders will speak about the needs of LGBTQ youth and their young allies.
7:45pm - Participants will break up into small groups for follow-up conversation about the panel and/or other participant identified themes (such as planning the next forum!).
8:30pm - Formal program ends, leaving some time for more informal networking and conversation.

The YES! Coalition nourishes the spiritual expression of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and same-gender-loving people, and our families and friends. Volunteers carry out this mission in partnership with affirming faith communities in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties that welcome people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. The YES! Coalition includes over 250 faith communities in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
